Wedding Ideas from Chicago’s Best Wedding Vendors

The Chez Wedding Pop-Up Showcases the Best Wedding Vendors in Chicago

Chicago’s best wedding vendors gathered at Chez wedding venue to lend their expertise and blend their wedding ideas with different inspirations. Representatives from the Chicago wedding industry included Kehoe Designs, Revel Décor, Limelight Catering, and Jenny Yoo Collection to name a few participants.

Chez put together several “dream teams” of the absolute best and most creative wedding vendors that are working in Chicago today. Teams were formed by partnering industry experts from different companies and asking them to create one-of-a-kind vignettes, or fully interactive experiences, that would simulate the look and feel of an exquisitely themed wedding celebration.

Engaged couples were then invited interact with the vignettes and borrow some inspiration, snapping photos of the wedding flower arrangements, jotting down tasting notes from the different wedding catering solutions and speaking with expert wedding planners on how they might pull off such a look for a Chicago wedding

Ultra Violet Theme for Wedding

One of the teams tasked with demonstrating an unique wedding was the combination of Kehoe Designs (décor and floral), Food For Thought (catering), Studio M Chicago (stationery), The Festive Frog (goblets and place settings), and BBJ Linens. All the different elements were overseen by the planners of Storybook Weddings & Events to come up with an interactive setting draped in rich colors that were inspired by the Pantone™ Color of the Year, Ultra Violet.

According to Joshua Jones of Kehoe Designs, “we infused the vignette with a bold splash of violet, deep purples, fuchsia and magenta. Our goal was to juxtapose the vibrancy of color against a neutral combination of smoky gray, black and white while creating textural art that gave guests a fresh take on floral design.” The arrangements and place settings were set on top of a mirrored table, adorned with romantic tableware and surrounded by a combination of ghost chairs and gray upholstered seats.

Food For Thought invited wedding guests to sample their tartine bar, featuring tartines with applewood smoked lake trout, sweet-n-sour blue and blackberry, and toasted sesame and citrus marinated purple beets

Botanical Wedding Inspiration with The Flower Firm

The Flower Firm blossomed with their botanical wedding theme. The designated wedding planner, Events by Grace, helped create a color palette of black, white, green and gold. Wedding catering was supplied by Blue Plate, and they served guests champagne with frozen fruit purée sticks to mix in with the bubbly, and provided a glimpse of an innovative take-away box — that could inspire great wedding favor ideas — was filled with savory and sweet brunch items.

Rustic Wedding Ideas with Bold Color

Foliage is trending strongly for weddings in 2018. To create a rustic wedding theme, Art of Imagination combined a collection branches and crystals such as quartz and amethyst. In the front of space, a sweetheart table designed by Sweet Chic Events showed how to repurpose a wedding ceremony backdrop for the bride and groom’s table. Angled outward from the sweetheart table was the build-your-own snack bar with pomegranate champagne cocktails from Jewell Events Catering. The wedding theme incorporated Pantone™ Color of the Year Ultra Violet with wedding greenery and rose-goldrustic-wedding-theme-chez-wedding-venuerustic-wedding-sweetheart-table jewell-wedding-catering-snack-bar

Dark Eclectic Wedding Style by Revel Décor

Another look demonstrated at the event was put together by Revel Décor and Shannon Gail Events, with tasty bites supplied by Limelight Catering. Their bold wedding theme featured a black lacquer table surrounded by burgundy and black leather chairs, and neatly juxtaposed by a patterned rug. The dark color scheme was complemented by a rich wood bar with tortoise shell, drape and wall with mirrors to create a dark and eclectic experience. The floral hanging piece showcased a linear design. Limelight served an acai smoothie, beet cured smoked salmon fingerling potato crisp with caviar and crème fraiche, and topped it off with a crepe station.

Candlelit Ceremony and Romantic Wedding Decor at Chez Wedding Venue

romantic Chicago wedding ceremonyRomantic wedding theme inspiration doesn’t get much better than this real Chez wedding. Last Fall, Elissa and Shaun said their emotional wedding vows beneath a show-stopping chuppah of delicately strung white florals and lights. With Chicago wedding planners Lola Event Productions and Chicago event designers Exquisite Designs at the helm, every element of the wedding decor was carefully planned and detailed. Hundreds of candles lined the aisle and formed linear centerpieces on tables, creating a romantic glow inside of Chez wedding venue on a blustery and grey fall day. After dinner and speeches, the newlyweds and their guests danced to live music by TC Squared and enjoyed gourmet milkshakes and late night snacks. Congratulations Elissa and Shaun.

Wedding Inspiration & Trends From This Year’s Chicago Weddings at Chez

wedding party luxe bouquetsA round up of wedding inspiration and wedding trends from 2017 weddings at Chez. Like many Chicago wedding venues, we’re continuing to see the blush and gold trend holding strong, but we’ve also seen a move towards towering wild and loose floral centerpieces, and dramatic, moody wedding themes this year.

Deep burgundy and purples tones, layers of texture, and warm rose gold or copper metallics bring this moody wedding decor theme to life.  We expect to see a lot more of this wedding trend in 2018.purple-copper-wedding-place-settingflower ceiling wedding trendsmoody textured pink purple wedding bouquetagate plate settings wedding trendsburgundy-bridesmaid-dressesTowering Loose & Wild Wedding Florals.
Creating drama for ceremony or reception, towering wedding florals were a big hit at Chicago wedding venues in 2017. Think apple or cherry blossom branches for a warm contemporary look in Spring, or loose arrangements on decorative gold or wooden pedestals to add height and drama to your wedding day decor.tall wedding centerpiece trendsloose wedding floral trendtwo grooms wedding ceremony tall apple blossom branchestowering green pink wedding flower trendsBlush.
While we expect to see lots of new twists in wedding decor trends in 2018, the blush wedding isn’t going anywhere fast. Meghan & Connor’s Wedding Day with a Twist

summer weddingWhen we heard that Meghan and Connor were planning their June 9th wedding around the blooming season of Meghan’s favorite flower, we understood. Everyone loves perfectly pink peonies, right? But there was a deeper meaning. The peonies Meghan had in mind were growing in both grandmas’ gardens in Green Bay! And so, two days before the wedding the blooms were cut and escorted to Green Bay florist, Divine Nature, to be arranged in textured golden vessels. Meghan and her family drove the precious peonies to Chicago and on June 9th the grandmas’ garden-grown peonies took pride of place as centerpieces and floral toppers on the geometric patterned wedding cake. And here’s the other twist, this was no ordinary wedding cake but also a birthday cake! Meghan was a bride and birthday girl all in one day. After making their grand entrance and blowing out the birthday candles, the newlyweds joined friends and family for dinner served by Jewell Events Catering. As special dances got under way, guests were invited to enjoy the delicious doughnut display. Congratulations Meghan and Connor … and to the Grandmas on their beautiful peonies!Bride grand entrancesummer wedding summer wedding summer wedding summer wedding summer wedding summer wedding summer wedding summer weddingPolaroid Guest bookpeony centerpiece birthday cake with peoniesBride blowing out candles summer wedding summer weddingPhotography: Courtney Cimo Photo + Film | Catering: Jewell Events Catering | Floral Arrangements: Peonies – Divine Nature, Bouquets – The Petal, Vow-inscribed canvas backdrop – Stephanie Fiore.

Alexis & Corey’s Stylish Moody Wedding

bride-and-groom-say-i-doOn a blue sky day in early June, Alexis and Corey said their wedding vows at Chez, beneath a dramatic canopy of florals and crystal chandeliers. Ghost chairs were arranged in the round, creating an intimate ceremony setting that allowed friends and family to surround the couple. With the team from Kehoe Designs at the helm, every decor detail was carefully considered. The design intermixed a unique palette of textures and styles that ranged from vintage gold metallics and rustic wood to classic crystal and ethereal chiffon. Organically styled floral, such as garden roses, peonies, and burgundy clematis were tied-in with garden-like elements of smokebush, seeded eucalyptus and privet berries.  Dozens of towering candles were placed on dining tables and beneath the glass staircase offering a romantic back drop for the mirrored head table. After their first dance and cake cutting, Alexis and Corey joined their guests for dinner by Jewell Events Catering. Flow Entertainment provided the entertainment for the night as guests danced and enjoyed a sweet smore station late into the night. What a day! Guests enjoyed dinner by Jewell Events Catering and danced to music by DJ Jennefa before a dramatic sparkler send off – the grand finale the the perfect day. Congratulations Amy and Colin!
